Dear friends,

I notice that there are a number of scurrilous postings here and elsewhere by a certain Noel Conway of Margaret River, in Western Australia.

Please rest assured that I am well and in good conscience. Unfortunately my web server is down but I can be contacted via this email address while I get my affairs in order.

There is nothing I have at the moment worth discussing. Certainly with reference to matters raised above I consider them beneath anyone's… Continue

practicing outreach

Posted on August 12, 2007 at 9:41pm 1 Comment

Here in Australia we practice what we call 'outreach', which is very much concerned with reaching out to people especially those at risk and intervene early before their situation deteriorates, and we are thus able to keep them on track towards a healthy and happy life.

To me outreach is the very antithesis of neglect, and I know very well how often one is criticised for it, but at the end of the day ethics would suggest that doing good is better than doing no harm in the… Continue

auditing poverty, or conversely the wealth imbalance?

Posted on July 23, 2007 at 8:21am 0 Comments

[I decided to post this here as well, from colleague Hameedullah's page, since the core discussion is so centrally important. It is no mere chance that he too lists himself as an anthropologist.]

I am inclined to argue that poverty is simply the Yin aspect of wealth, where the question becomes one of balance. It appears popular in the

West to pursue the Yang aspect exclusively, without considering the

harm done.

One of my reasons for… Continue

on things not being equal

Sitting here ruminating; chewing the intellectual cud so to speak, and thinking to myself what a nice bunch of people there are here willing to come together and to offer themselves collaboratively to a purpose. That takes quite a lot of humility, but no less courage, or singularity of purpose.

It has always been fundamentally frustrating to me that so very many people when they want something done go running to government, or para-government or pseudo-government, rather than to their… Continue

a tyranny of distance, or mindset?

Posted on July 17, 2007 at 9:43am 0 Comments

My thoughts here are primarily swimming around the eternal issue of communication and organisation, whether across vast distances or right here in our own living rooms.

This may perhaps be a typically Australian preoccupation, except that nowadays we have coming on stream obviously intelligent, well-informed and well-educated people from apparently so far away as Kyrgyzstan, which is in fact far closer to us than anywhere in the…

Dear friend
Violance, war, conflicts, sufferings my desire to see world in peace and non violance has motivated me to join this network."Vasudev kutukbkam" entire world as a family, this was a teaching of our culture and traditional.we created countries, boundries, religions, cast, race for a genuine reason or a false reasons for any reason.but this the time to realise that we are one and we naturaly interconected with each other ,which we can just realise by watching inhale and exhale of breaths the source is same ,without any descrimanation, religion, bonundries, equaly for all living life of universe .When we understand this simple thing then we must understand how our and other's life is equaly important, valuble ,respectable .we should follow the nature's rule ,non violance .peace ,god has given us a human life not for destruction but for lookafter the wellbeing of all living life.
i shall be happy if you could include me in your circle of friends
