Pre-deciding About Violence (a short essay)Elizabeth Traubman, BA, MSW Lionel Traubman, DDS, MSDAbstract:Under stress among nations or at home, the violence button is pushed too quickly and too often. In the midst of perceived danger, it is usually too late to reject violence and explore creative, alternative responses. Human experience and social science increasingly inform us of the need to pre-decide to reject violent reactions in favor of face-to-face communication excellence. The full text…See More

The Skipped Step: Human Engagement

The Skipped Step: Human engagement by Libby and Len Traubman "How can we have peace if we don't build relationships?," asked young Ezeibe Ikenna when we facilitated 200 African adversaries captured on film in DIALOGUE IN NIGERIA: Muslims & Christians Creating Their Future." Why can't we see that "wanting" peace means pursuing citizen-driven, heart-to-heart human engagement that finally frees the brain to think properly?  What blinds us to…See More

Peace is Intercourse

Ecstasy is in

It is our faith and experience after 46 years of marriage and peacebuilding that the soul's oldest memory is of union, and the soul's deepest longing is for reunion.

Seeking the ecstasy of reconnection—especially between enemies—is often disappointing for those clinging to the illusion of…

I am Prof. Sungho Kang living in Seoul, Korea.  I am involved in NGO programs.  I was very impressed by your video "20 Years of Palestinian.." and your activities. My organization is promoting historical reconciliation and peace building among East Asian countries. This year, we are going to hold "The 5th International NGO Conference on History and Peace" in Seoul, Korea. Your experience will be very good example for historical reconciliation. I would like to seek for more advice and information from your organization in this regard.

We from the mano river basin of Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea have said good bye to war and looking forward to initiatives like the Dialogue in Nigeria to be replicated in our region. Nigeria as the big brother in the sub region always like to play its fatherly role from the days of colonial rule when Lord Lugard introduced the indirect rule in Northern Nigeria successfully, while the east attempted resisting the rule of the white man as exemplified in Chinua Achebe's foremost and powerful "Things fall Apart', up to present, we in this basin have always looked up to Nigeria as children wait patiently for their father to return home from work. We stand by and wait for your next instruction as we try to internalize what relevance this initiative has on our future generations!

Hello Libby & Len

Please take a look at this report and blog

The State of Israel is in Bed with the Military Industrial Complex

If you want to know why we are not heading down the road to peace. Just read this Congressional Research Service report U.S. Foreign Aid to Israel of September 16, 2010

The United States government has pledged over three billion dollars a year in military aid to the State of Israel until the year 2018. This is on top of, well over a hundred billion dollars of United States aid to the State of Israel over the years. With two-thirds of it being military aid. It works out to over five-hundred dollars per every Israeli annually...   Global Crier
