Solutions to problems of democracy and economic development in Africa

RESOURCE CURSE WHICH HINDERS DEMOCRACY

Frequently people wonder why the richest African countries, in natural resources, typically have the most authoritarian regimes. The sole exception to this correlation is Botswana. In the current issue of Democracy and Society there is a explanation of the problem of the "resource curse" which actually inhibits the development of democracy.
