Profile

What motivated you to become involved in peace and conflict resolution?
In 1999, I went to Kigali, Rwanda on a International Commission of Jurists Conference on the NGO participation in the work of the African Commission on Human and People's Rights (ACHPR). Whilst in Kigali, I had the opportunity of visiting the genocide sites particularly Ntarama church and could not comprehend how human relations could deteriorate to the level of savagery. I therefore felt that I needed to shift my focus from human rights work to peace and conflict resolution. Since then I am a conscious believer in working tirelessly for a just and egalitarian society.
