- I was born and raised in South Carolina and am of Sri Lankan descent. After having visited Sri Lanka as I grew up I volunteered there for the Sarvodaya Shramadana Group. My work there motivated me to pursue further studies so I could enter the development field. I moved to Washington, DC for graduate school and upon completion entered in the work place.
