Profile

What motivated you to become involved in peace and conflict resolution?
all the community suffer due to ethnic conflict in Sri Lanka more than 30 years. but No proper solution made by the any government. then i decided to join with the foundation for co-existence.

I am responsible for monitoring and producing the analyses of the human security situation in the Eastern Province of Sri Lanka and inform FCE’s Programs Division regularly. and responsible for producing the daily Situation Report on the Eastern Province, Weekly human security situation report, Monthly Human Security Assessment Report and Special Reports on Focused-Issues and disseminating the same to FCE’s Programs Division and multilateral agencies

Responsible for holding the Monthly Human Security Roundtable Meeting with the heads of multilateral agencies (the UN System, EC Delegation, The World Bank, Embassies and High commissions, INGOs and Government Agencies) is the convener to the National Advisory Council on Human Security in the Eastern Province. And built networks between FCE’s Information Centre and multilateral agencies for the exchange of information


Laid rules and procedures for event data collection, verification, coding, database management and information analysis to deliver conflict early warning for the Eastern Province. Introduced Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for digital mapping of peace and conflict indicators to give early warning for the Eastern Province

I am Manager Information Centre in the Foundation for Co-existence and I am studying conflict resolution in Practice and I wanted to study the conflict resolution further

Thanks for being interested about Sri Lanka ethnic problem. yes Sri Lanka has an ethnic problem and it has long long ago history. this was started during the British colonial period. i will not be able to write here the full story but the ethnic conflict has converted to the terrorist problem and it suffer all communities. if u interest i will mail you.
