What motivated you to become involved in peace and conflict resolution?
To be posted later
Please feel free to provide a short bio about yourself (no more than 3 paragraphs)
I am a nonviolence trainer, "activist" (whatever that means), mediator, struggling to be pacifist, feminist, animal lover with anarchist leanings and believer in acting "as if" the world was as I want it to be.

Perhpas that is why I am such a believer in peace teams - because I believe that by creating and serving on peace teams we are creating the alternatives to war and to violent conflict intervention by living them.

A former early childhood educator I now work part time as a receptionist at a pediatrition's office in order to afford to volunteer full time - mostly with Nonviolent Peaceforce and with Michigan Peace Team.
Please list the countries and/or regions in which you have direct and significant expertise
ACK - what is "significant expertise" - I'm not sure I'm ever comfortable setting myself up as an expert. That said, I have served on numerous "domestic peace teams" (within the United States) as well as on 2 Michigan Peace Team (MPT) teams in Palestine and Israel. I have done support for MPT teams within the US, Canada, Mexico, Palestine/Israel and along the US Mexico border.
What is your current country of residence?
United States
What is your current job (and organization) and/or where and what field are you studying?
My current "job" is part time as a receptionist at a pediatrition's office, but my work is as a nonviolence trainer, consultant, and curriculum designer.
What is your personal or organizational website?
http://playfulspirit.wordpress.com (personal) http://www.michiganp...
Which are your primary sectoral areas of expertise?
Alternative Dispute Resolution, Conflict Resolution, Gender, Education, Organizational Development
Which are your primary skills areas?
Training, Program Design
What are some of your current areas of research (if any)?
I havnet' really started yet - but I'm wanting to look more at gender in TPNI, and how the gender (perceived gender) of the third party plays into things.
