Building Bridges, Networks and Expertise Across Sectors
Second part of a video exploring environmental conflict in Ecuador, especially conflicts between oil companies and indigenous communities, and conflicts over watershed areas. Proposes a series of potential ideas to address problems, including enhancing eco-tourism initiatives, strengthening a rights-based approach for marginalized affected communities, and promoting dialogue. Draws on interviews with a former minister of the environment, an indigenous leader, a human rights attorney, and various community leaders. Produced by CEMPROC with collaboration from the University of Georgia. Created by Katie Sciortino, Monique Pamphile, Paul Larson, and Elizabeth Cason in 2007.
