New York, NY -- In anticipation of Sierra Leone's upcoming presidential elections on November 17, 2012, superstar trio Bajah + The Dry Eye Crew, based in Brooklyn, NY, releases new song called "Give Peace a Chance" to encourage youth to vote peacefully and reject violent tendencies that were common during their last elections in 2003 as well as the country's historic 11-year civil war.

"We made the song because there is already rising tensions due to the election coming and we hope the message of peace will be heard", states lead singer, Pupa Bajah.

Partnering with fellow Brooklyn-based artist, Emmy-winning filmmaker, Lisa Russell (who produces humanitarian related films for the UN/NGO community and filmmed in Sierra Leone in February 2012 for a solar power and maternal health initiative), they produced the video using some of her original footage as well as archival footage of the past elections.

"Music and video are powerful mediums to ignite positive responses in societies around the world so Pupa Bajah and I decided to team up for this important endeavor to encourage a peaceful election", states Lisa Russell.

The song and video - intended for the Sierra Leonean people and written in the local language of Krio - will be promoted on social networking sites as well as in country on radio and television stations. "Give Peace a Chance" was produced by Pupa Bajah on his new label, "Native Groove Productions". The song will be released in December 2012 on the album entitled, "Cotton Tree" - a reference to a national landmark.
