Maor, it is me who has twice asked you to be my friend, and you who has rejected the request on each occasion.

Maybe the peace park idea is interesting, I am not so sure.

What I do know is that it is a crazy idea to propose a peace park in an area that is occupied by the military - in this case, the Israeli Defence Force.

Check my Feb 10 comment below to see who it is who should have autonomy over the Golan Heights. Check wiki if you doubt me.

This is an extremely interesting idea that deserves the attention of leaders on all sides. I really don't see any reason why anyone would reject it. This should also be presented to the wider public in Israel and Syria.

Christine, let go of all this hate sometimes, it doesn't seem healthy.

Here is a video which demonstrates how sincere the people of Israel are about peace:

this was a fascinating conference- although it was almost entirely attended by Tel Avivians - there were some residents of the Golan and some who deem the Golan residents as settlers in illegal territory. The guest keynote speaker was soft spoken but clear about reminding Israelis that people elsewhere in the world think about these things as well. The presentation of the concept of what is a peace park was brilliant and very edifying.... we have much to learn. Bottom line message meshes very well with my life philosophy - all is possible if we can understand each other and work together to meet all our needs! If you have a chance to hear Saleem Ali or buy his books - I highly recommend it!

Israel is planning to establish a peace park on the Golan heights ???

The Golan Heights (formerly known as the Syrian Heights) is a mountainous region at the southern end of the Anti-Lebanon Mountains and remains a highly contested land straddling the borders of Syria and Israel. Two-thirds of the area is currently governed by Israel. The United Nations, the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, [all] ... consider the Golan Heights to be Syrian territory occupied by Israel. Israel has controlled most of the Golan since the Six Day War in 1967.
