I set out to show that nonviolence could deal with Hitler.

My novel, Denmark Rising, is lavishly praised as a compelling, impossible-to-put-down story that convincingly shows the Danes largely foiling Hitler with nonviolent strategies. It expands the possible and fires our imagination.

If you will read it, I will send you a free copy.

Peace and Grace,

Dr. Barry Clemson

Sub: Again violence in India & Solutions- for the query of ‘pedro de araujo dos santos’
For your question, how to solve violence/violent groups?
Right Strategy is 2 fold: 1. Philosophical 2. Personal
1. Philosophical: All (rebels, terrorists or any groups) all have reasons for violence. But reasons are as Philosopher Martin Heidegger said, like unending horizons (there are so many layers of reasons on both sides. No quick fix; an attitude of judging the other as fools is never a solution. So the approach is dialogical - dialogue, dialogue again dialogue.
2. Personal: As Martin Buber said the approach is an attitude from “I-it to I-Thou” relationship, respect for one another. With this attitude of dialogue, each side is able to realize how much they harm, are selfish and how much they can give up for without destroying ‘self but giving up ‘selfishness’.
NB: Permanent future strategy should be education on nonviolence in all schools and try to deprive availability of all instruments of violence (arms, pistol etc).

Dear Sir, Thank you for adding me. I saw you went to Eastern Mennonite University in the USA. How was that experience for you? I am looking for a peace studies programme and my interest is in peace infrastructure and civil society peacebuilding. Does the programme combine well theory and practice and is it also building skills? Is it a multicultural environment? What is it like to be a student there? Thanks for your considerations. Corina
