For your question, how to solve violence/violent groups?
Right Strategy is 2 fold: 1. Philosophical 2. Personal
1. Philosophical: All (rebels, terrorists or any groups) all have reasons for violence. But reasons are as Philosopher Martin Heidegger said, like unending horizons (there are so many layers of reasons on both sides. No quick fix; an attitude of judging the other as fools is never a solution. So the approach is dialogical - dialogue, dialogue again dialogue.
2. Personal: As Martin Buber said the approach is an attitude from “I-it to I-Thou” relationship, respect for one another. With this attitude of dialogue, each side is able to realize how much they harm, are selfish and how much they can give up for without destroying ‘self but giving up ‘selfishness’.
NB: Permanent future strategy should be education on nonviolence in all schools and try to deprive availability of all instruments of violence (arms, pistol etc).
