Last autumn I wrote two analyses from Croatia - a personal re-visiting tour to some of the places TFF's conflict-mitigation team and I worked intensely with from 1991. The
first one here, the
second one here.
I have now made a follow-up in the form of an interview with the leader of the Serb Democratic Forum in Croatia, Veljko Dzakula.
Please find it here.
The articles are illustrated with my photos to help you see what I saw and give a background to what the articles attempt to say.
In a way it is difficult to say that Croatia is not ready for membership of the EU and NATO; both organizations did so much that was so wrong in those years and they have never had the courage to evaluate their policies, neither leraning from their mistakes. This said, I still believe it is morally utterly wrong to reward Croatia and its present leadership - which still
celebrates their country's war crimes and do not care the slightest about its Serb minority - with integration into Europe. But I know...neither NATO nor the EU has any reason to raise arguments about the war, the nationalism and the fake peace-building in Croatia since it would, unavoidably, point the finger at themselves.
Kind regards
