Never in a million years did he imagine himself winding up walking down the hills of France, climbing up the Alpide belt, crossing Europe to Africa in a ferry.

Ken is a very interesting man that decided to make a dream that has always crept at the back of his head come alive, walking down all the way to Egypt from Portugal  for MasterPeace, for sure he is the guy to meet.

Ken is carrying two petitions with me addressing peace in the Middle East: one to the Yesha Council, which oversees Israeli settlements in Palestinian Territory, asking them to stop building settlements and to recognize the Palestinians as a people; and one to Hamas, asking it to use non-violent, rather than violent resistance, and to recognize the state of Israel.

This journey for peace is part of MasterPeace Alchemist alive project, where MasterPeace has obtained the permission of the bestselling author Paulo Coelho to make his famous novel ”The Alchemist” come alive. In every country of the world, MasterPeace wants to inspire individuals to become the shepherd boy of this story and start traveling towards the pyramids in Egypt as green and visible as possible.

Due to the involvement of sport clubs, travel websites, libraries and others, we expect at least 10,000 participants, all of them earning their ticket for the MasterPeace concert on the International Day of Peace in 2014, thanks to their “pilgrimage for peace”. We expect this creates 10,000 inspiring stories of guts and personal leadership.

In Egypt, all travelers will be connected to new friends living in the Middle East. “On The Road To MasterPeace: The Alchemist Alive” creates thousands of new intercultural and interfaith friendships and brings positive stories through media, weblogs and documentaries to millions of people.

Ken started walking the first 1000 kilometers together with his daughter where they had great times especially in Fes, Morocco, where she left him to do another 2000 kilometers alone. He is somewhere now in Italy after just passing through the Alps, from France into Italy aiming to continue walking through Northern Italy, on to Turkey, then down to Egypt.

The plan is to deliver the two petitions to their destinations in Israel and Palestine, then continue on to Cairo for Masterpeace, an organization which encourages peace initiatives from people like you and I. Masterpeace is organizing a peace concert in Cairo for September of 2014.
