Invitation to participate in a phone call and web presentation about the Zimbabwe Cholera Crisis

Dear friends and colleagues,

I would like to invite you to participate in our upcoming On the Ground phone call and web presentation on Oxfam's response to the Zimbabwe Cholera Crisis. You'll hear directly from Oxfam staff members who have been working on this preventable disaster.

Please reserve your spot now for our On the Ground Phone and Web Conference.

You already know about Oxfam's emergency response in fact, you help make it happen. So please join us to hear about how Oxfam is responding to the Zimbabwe Cholera Crisis.

An outbreak of cholera reaching epidemic proportions has killed at least 3,000 people in Zimbabwe since August. More than 300,000 people, already seriously weakened by lack of food, are in grave danger from the epidemic. The decimation of the country's infrastructure over the past decade has resulted in the collapse of basic water and sanitation services, compounding the problem even further.

Oxfam has been responding to the growing crisis since October by rehabilitating critical water sources, carrying out hygiene promotion, and providing soap, disinfectant, and clean water in addition to lifesaving oral rehydration salts.

Register for our online presentation and discussion to be held on Tuesday, February 24th at 1 p.m., with Oxfam's Dr. Miriam Aschkenasy, Public Health Specialist, Coco McCabe, Senior Writer, and Helen DaSilva, Press Officer. Miriam and Coco have just returned from Zimbabwe and will speak about the current situation on the ground.
