"Humanitarian assistance, refugees, & peacebuilding" - Kennesaw State and USIP

These workshops, supported by the U.S. Institute of Peace Public  Education for Peacebuilding Support initiative, will include 3 public events that focus on interventions at different stages of conflict and the real human impact of the work of peacebuilders. The topics and proposed dates are:
  1. Peacekeeping in Humanitarian Emergencies (October 29th, 2013)
  2. Security and Relief Work in Complex Situations (December 2, 2013)
  3. Refugee Resettlement and Self Sufficiency (December 17, 2013)

Each approximately 2-hour workshop will focus on key actors, roles, responsibilities, and ultimately their impact upon peace.

Panelists include:

  1. Politicians, diplomats, and others who make and enact policy;
  2. Peacekeepers/military intervention forces;
  3. Humanitarian aid and relief workers;
  4. NGO workers engaged in peacebuilding;
  5. Scholars with expertise in these topics
  6. Civilians who lived in conflict, especially refugees and immigrants.
