Civil Society capacity-building audit
Background
Saferworld is an international non-governmental organisation working to prevent violent conflict and build safer lives for ordinary people. It is based in the UK with programmes in Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. Working with Civil Society has historically been an important part of Saferworld’s identity and civil society actors remain fundamental to Saferworld’s work.
Saferworld is seeking a consultant to conduct an audit of Saferworld’s work on civil society capacity-building to date and, develop recommendations for the most strategic way for Saferworld to take this area of work forward. This will enable Saferworld to better understand what the organisation already knows and is doing on civil society capacity-building, where the gaps are and how to strengthen our capacity on this issue. The audit will lay the foundations for a more strategic approach to this area of work across the organisation.

The duration of this consultancy is expected to be a maximum of 18 days between March and the end of April 2013.
Interested candidates should submit an Expression of Interest in the form of a letter outlining relevant experience, suitability for the consultancy, an example of their written work, an indication of the background material they would consult for this assignment, their expected fee, CV, and references to maziz@saferworld.org.uk.
