If you haven’t noticed, here at the Peace and Collaborative Development Network, we are committed to providing a platform where interested people can connect with each other, share information, and find useful tools for their goals. However, we are obviously not alone. We believe that more networking means more opportunities.

In this guide you will find other social networking sites devoted to promoting peace or social justice in one way or another. Some are very specific and some are much more general. This list is by no means comprehensive, but hopefully it helps broaden your horizons. Please note that a listing here does not imply any endorsement of these sites. To be listed in this network a site needs to meet the following criteria:
· Cover one of the core areas related to peace, development, human rights, social entrepreneurship, social change.
· Provide a platform for social networking and an interactive site (news sites, individual blogs, etc. will not be listed).
· Have at least 500 members
· Be committed to the goal of dialogue and positive interaction

One current limitation is that all of these are English language sites. We would be pleased to also list relevant networks that focus on regional conflicts or are in a language other than English. As always if you know of any sites that belong in this guide, please don’t hesitate to tell us!

Idealist: Action Without Borders connects people, organizations, and resources to help build a world where all people can live free and dignified lives.

International Network for Peace: Network of organization comprised of individuals who have lost loved ones to violence. Dedicated to breaking the cycle of violence via mutual support and awareness through interaction.

Just Means: Just means builds best in-class technology that ignites our employee's and clients to do business, better, It works by attracting and igniting advocates for better business.


Peace Support Network: Serves as a database collecting resources and linking people. Focuses mainly on youth and child services. Features in include books, guides, and activities.

Peace and Collaborative Development Network: This is us! The Peace and Collaborative development Network is a free professional networking site to foster dialogue and sharing of resources in international development, conflict resolution, gender mainstreaming, human rights, social entrepreneurship and related fields.

ME Peace: MEPEACE is a non-profit organization which aims to foster a growing community of peacemakers. Its peacemakers, from 175 countries, are committed to realizing peace in the Middle East. The community is active online and on the ground.

Connected Peace Corps: Social networking site for returned and serving Peace Corps volunteers. Allows volunteers to share projects, materials, ideas, etc.

Earthdance Network: EDNet is a first step in the Earthdance “Business of Peace” initiative being jointly developed by Earthdance Global LLC and Earthdance International 501-3c non-profit. Their goal is to empower the international event network and develop partnerships for socially responsible commerce within (and beyond) our community. EDNet is based in San Francisco, California.

Exchanges Connect: ExchangesConnect is an English-language social network administered by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, U.S. Department of State.

Changemakers: Changemakers is a community of action where members collaborate on solutions. They talk about the issues, share stories and mentor, advise, and encourage each other in group forums, and engage in friendly competition.

Social Edge: Social Edge is the global online community where social entrepreneurs and other practitioners of the social benefit sector connect to network, learn, inspire and share resources. It is funded by the Skoll Foundations.

NGO Post: NGO Post is the people's platform for sharing and discussing various social welfare initiatives. NGO Post keeps up to date with the latest developments, finding quality information about topics of interest and establish collaborations with other knowledgeable people around the globe.

Peace On Facebook: Facebook is proud to play a part in promoting peace by building technology that helps people better understand each other. By enabling people from diverse backgrounds to easily connect and share their ideas, we can decrease world conflict in the short and long term.

Peace X Peace: Peace X Peace is a rapidly growing international organization that connects women across cultures for friendship, support, and action for peace. Our global community of women is building a more balanced, peaceful world where our lives, stories, and voices are valued and honored.

Taking it Global: TAG enables a collaborative learning community which provides youth with access to global opportunities, cross-cultural connections and meaningful participation in decision-making.
