Nelson Mandela's Truth Commission, Not Too Late for the US to Try

The most recent, "What If history" was the postings on "What If President Kennedy had lived?" I like to add, "What If Senator Leahy had succeeded in creating a US Truth Commission?

After the Civil War, President Lincoln healed the nation in a small way his blanket pardons of Southerners for crimes against the US government during the Civil War,…

Celebrate the Path Toward Peace even if it is only a Peace Bubble

Finally all the nations of the UN Security Council are working together to solve the problems instead of stalemating when dealing with Syrian chemicals and Iranian nuclear potential. But the biggest celebration has yet to sink…

The “N” word, Holocaust belittling and Muslim reactions to anti-Islam hate

Very few defend hurling the completed “N” word and usually those who question Holocaust memorials don't actually praise German World War II policies. However when it comes to images whose sole purpose is to anger Muslims some talk about heroic defense of religious freedom. The Danish publication baited Muslims to be more unwelcomed in Denmark. The anti-Islam trailer in the US, pretending to have 100 Jewish…

Peace Spells and War Spells

Ding Dong the Wicked Witch is Dead”. Why is that jingle so hauntingly appealing? Saddam’s trial was full of rage, the rage not turning to joy as the body fell. Sometimes joy is expressed when a court room verdict is read but when it is carried out the joy tends to disappear, except with the Wicked Witches spell being broken, and is in some way connected to bin Laden's cult of…

Obama made one peace try but Doves didn’t cheer

Sharia Law was established in the Swat Valley, but neither doves nor hawks cheered.

One unlikely way for the US to exit Afghanistan would be for Obama to announce it, then leave, as Sharia Law mixed with chaos and revenge killing grip Kabul. Of course hawks are in the way of this happening but US doves don’t want to sign on to the US participating in less then Western Justice either. Despite the fact that an orderly end to the war is possible only with a cease fire and US… Continue
