"... the physical survival of human race depends on a radical change of the human heart." ( Eric Fromm)

I am Ernesto Gabriel Santa Cruz, born and raise by an honest and loving parents in Puerto Princesa Palawan, Philippines on February 29, 1952. I started to get involved in environmental work in 1980. In 1986, i join Task Force Pawkan , a government unit exclusively involve in marine turtle conservation. In 1987, in private capacity, i initiated to protect Tubbataha Reefs, and actions I delivered lead to the signing of a Presidential Proclamation 306 "Declaring Tubbataha Reef a National Marine Park"- sign by President Cory Aquino in 1988 and thus become a World Heritage Site in 1993 as declared by UNESCO. In 1995 I was assigned by the Presidential Task Force Tubbataha (President F.B. Ramos Administration) to design a plan to arrest the threats in Tubbataha Reef National Marine Park. With assistance from World Wildlife fund i asked, I presented the Interim Action Plan for Tubbataha Reef Marine Park in August 11,1995, was approved and implemented for 1 year. To date, Tubbataha Reef National Marine Park is serving the people around the world.

Currently , I am in Mindanao helping the moro people of Maguindanao province to cultivate their unproductive war-turn lands thru the help of Sultan Mohammad H. Adil , Al Haj, Sultan of Kotawato. In many years of my environmental works, i have observed that human who conquers the natural resources up to the point of destruction has change their path. Realizing that they lost something rather than gain in the long term, finally, they become stewards of the natural environment.

I believe Peace must be present in our hearts , within ourselves, in every individual to bring social order in this planet earth.
