My name is Shelby Port, a 23-year old humanist from Seattle, Washington. I am currently volunteer at Neve Shalom – Wahat al-Salam, Israel - A joint village of Palestinian Arabs and Jews dedicated to the peace process, equality and understanding among peoples. I work in the Communications & Development Department, where I am involved in fundraising and developing PR materials.

In June 2006, I received my bachelor of arts degree from the University of Washington’s Henry M. Jackson School for International Studies with a track in Foreign Policy, Diplomacy, Peace and Security and a minor in Women’s Studies. During my undergraduate career, I conducted a month-long research project on Inter-communal Relations among Cypriot NGOs while studying Conflict Resolution in Nicosia, Cyprus;

After graduation, I served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Jordan from July 2006 to June 2007. After studying Jordanian colloquial Arabic, I worked full-time as an English teacher at the Madaba Girls Youth Center and part-time at the USAID Madaba Tourism Development Project in Madaba Jordan. In June 2007, I participated in the Promoting Peace Through Dialogue Seminar organized by Global Majority, a California-based NGO; the seminar consisted of a training course on Negotiation, Mediation and Conflict Resolution and an international conference at the United Nations University – Leadership Institue in Amman, Jordan.

Violance,war,conflicts,sufferings my desire to see world in peace and non violance has motivated me to join this network."Vasudev kutukbkam" entire world as a family, this was a teaching of our culture and traditional.we created countries,boundries,religions,cast,race for a genuine reason or a false reasons for any reason.but this the time to realise that we are one and we naturaly interconected with each other ,which we can just realise by watching inhale and exhale of breaths the source is same ,without any descrimanation,religion,bonundries, equaly for all living life of universe .When we understand this simple thing then we must understand how our and other's life is equaly important,valuble ,respectable .we should follow the nature's rule ,non violance .peace ,god has given us a human life not for destruction but for lookafter the wellbeing of all living life.
