PROFILE
AGORO COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT (ACDA)

ACDA is a community based organization form in 2001 by the community hailing from Agoro sub-county in Kitgum district. The organization after it formation it get registered with the local government of Uganda as a local organization and soon after it formation it get affiliated to RESPECT international based in Canada. ACDA become fully registered in 2006 under companies’ act of Uganda with its registration N0. 78188.
ACDA has it operation area in Lamwo County, which covered 9 sub-counties (there 12 IDP camps).

ACDA MISSION AND VISION

“To provide a voice for the oppressed and Disadvantage groups in the community, and mark an effort to lobby for support to alleviate there plight and improve their situation”

FOCUS PROGRAM of ACDA

The focus area of ACDA are Human Rights Education, HIV/AIDS education/ awareness and orphans education support, Conflict management and `peace building.
The organization has been implementing most of it activities, through partnership and grant from both international NGOs and local government.

OBJECTIVE OF ACDA

v Re-establishment of the community ‘s long – term sustainability
v Improvement of the community ‘s social and economic status
v Increased awareness on children’s rights
v Conflict management and Peace building
v Human rights education and awareness
v Increasing education and vocational training opportunities, whether formal or informal
v Provide children with protection, food, clothing, medical care and counselling
v Provision of opportunities for recreation

ADMIN ISTRATION OF THE ORGANIZASTION

The organization project is managed on day to day basic by the director, hand in hand with filed coordinator, support staff (volunteers) and the social workers and paralegals that are based in the operation area of the organization.


THE ORGANIZATION ACTIVITIES REPORTING LINE AND MONITORING

The logical framework for the project includes indicators of the project purpose and the result. These indicators will be refined in participatory process and report. The coordinator will carry out monitoring of the result indictors during the project implementation and the report will be submitted to the donor.

The project filed officer will report on the activities and output, following a common format designed by the project team. The participating local leaders, social workers and the paralegals involved in service provision will report on their activities based on the simple monitoring format designed and jointly agreed by the programme team.

The evaluation shall take place monthly during the course of the project implementation, ACDA and donor will do the accounting and auditing based in the line with funding agency procedures.
Monthly narrative project activities and financial report shall be provided to the funding agency’s procedures.
The monthly report on progress of the project shall be deducted from the daily project activities report documented by the social workers and paralegals
Proper accountability and Transparency within ACDA will help in marking accurate information and positive impact of the to the community in the project area.

THE STRUCTURE OF THE ORAGINIZATION ORGANIZATION

The management structure of ACDA programme has been developed for foster a team-based approach and models a culture of transparency and accountability internally and serves the purpose of promoting leadership and accountability in the organization. This was undertaken in order to facilitate the process of programme growth, harmonize with the change in programme approach and to strengthen the organization.
The director as the immediate line manager will manage the project implementation and the programme staffs/ volunteer/s and social worker, All ACDA project composed of field coordinator, support staff, volunteers, social workers and paralegals.
The project field coordinators are the front line staffs with primary responsibility for capacity building, support and managing social workers, paralegals and the volunteers.
