Dear friend
Violance, war, conflicts, sufferings my desire to see world in peace and non violance has motivated me to join this network."Vasudev kutukbkam" entire world as a family, this was a teaching of our culture and traditional.we created countries, boundries, religions, cast, race for a genuine reason or a false reasons for any reason.but this the time to realise that we are one and we naturaly interconected with each other ,which we can just realise by watching inhale and exhale of breaths the source is same ,without any descrimanation, religion, bonundries, equaly for all living life of universe .When we understand this simple thing then we must understand how our and other's life is equaly important, valuble ,respectable .we should follow the nature's rule ,non violance .peace ,god has given us a human life not for destruction but for lookafter the wellbeing of all living life.

Hi Fadi, I don't know if you are in Palestine now or not but I am going to be traveling there in a week for a short period of time before I have to get back for my graduate program. Im going partly to visit a friend in Ramallah but also to do research for my thesis. Im looking at peace and critical education programs run by both Israelis, Palestinians, and join projects. If you have any interesting organizations in Palestine that you could let me know about that would be great! Feel free to email me at emilyasiegel@gmail.com . Thanks!

Profile Information

What motivated you (or your organization) to become involved in peace and conflict resolution?
Simply growing in a conflict area (the Palestinian occupied territories), my identity has been shaped and affected by the collective memory of both sides, and the current events on ground. Reflecting on my own personal experiences, and the pros and cons of using violence vs nonviolence has dericted me first to practice nonviolence as a lifestyle and then pursuing an academic degree in Conflict Transformation.

Finally, my dream in better future for all earth children, Palestinians and Israelis, Muslims, Christians, and Jews, is my main motivation. We all deserve better life, and this better won’t come through violence and hate, but through trust, forgiveness, and commitment. Wherever injustice slips into human life that will be my land, because all violent conflicts feed each other, and all constructive conflicts inspire each other.
Please feel free to provide a short bio about yourself or the work of your organization (no more than 3 paragraphs)
I completed my undergraduate studies at Birzeit University with a major in Psychology and a minor in sociology. After my graduation, I interned at the Palestinian Counseling Center (PCC), a center that offers counseling, support and empowerment to children, women, youth and individuals in the Palestinian society. I was involved with both the youth and children’s groups as a co-counselor. After my internship at the PCC, I joined MEND, Middle East Nonviolence and Democracy (an organization working with youth, women and children in the Palestinian society to promote active nonviolence, democracy and civil society), as a trainer in active nonviolence and conflict resolution and also a projects manager for several projects targeting the local Palestinian Communities. For the past two years I have worked as Free Lance Consultant/ Trainer in the following Subjects:
Organizational Analysis & Leadership, Non-violence & Advocacy, and Planning, Monitoring & Evaluating Projects
Now I am a Fulbright scholar, pursuing my master degree in Conflict Transformation with a concentration in Developing Healthy Organizations and Leadership at the Center for Justice and Peacebuilding, Eastern Mennonite University, VA.
Please list the countries and/or regions in which you (or your organization) have direct and significant expertise
The Middle East
What is your current country of residence (or location of your organization)?
U.S.A
What is your current job (and organization) and/or where and what field are you studying?
Graduate Student in Conflict Transformation
Which are your primary sectoral areas of expertise (or the primary sectoral areas of your organization) ?

Reflections

There has to be a conjunction somewhere in the journey of the peacebuilder that made him choose to be in control over his life, rather than being a victim seeking revenge. There had to be a regression prior the progression phase. Being aware of the traumatic experiences is one of the pillars that sustain the peacebuilder and makes him aware of his motives, interests, fears, and power sources.
