Profile Information

What motivated you (or your organization) to become involved in peace and conflict resolution?
At first I was deeply impressed by a group of people, who are my colleagues now, that organized a Peace Vigil on 20 march 2005. The event gathered about 60 people in a freezing evening, but soon the atmosphere was warm with the enthusiasm shared among us. It was the first time in my life when I heard about the extent to which Romania is militarizing and how militarism is hurting many other areas. It was a time when I was looking for a cause and a committed group of people with whom I may join and feel like I can make a difference.

Dear Corina
I am sorry for the delay in replying you. Yes I was in EMU for summer programs. The experience was excellent. Totally multi-cultural and very active campus with different perspectives of Peace. I am happy to know that you are interested; I strongly encourage you to do that. It will help you very much with your already existing interests and activities. As regards your doubt about theory & practice I don’t know how much expect. I don’t think there will be real practical to solve disputes and issues. But there would be exposure to distant communities, organizations, boating hiking etc. If you are a student you will enjoy very much; there is a lot of freedom. As you may know, this being summer program the experiencing may be limited. But there is Masters Degree program, that may have more to offer you. If you need an application for summer program, please do not hesitate to send email vargees2004@yahoo.co.in 0r devas_ca2004@hotmail.com I can send to you as it comes. There are also some other peace institute in states . Best wishes; God bless your interests.

Dear Corina, It is surprising that we have not yet met. I've been involved with the Campaign for the Department of Peace and am a close friend of Dot Maver. I wanted to go to Costa Rica this September but my traveling schedule would not permit that. My book is more like a self help book which is very good in teaching people what forgiveness is and how to forgive. I am developing a forgiveness healing/training program now which I would like to use abroad especially in countries where healing needs to take place. I am also developing a project at the UN on forgiveness. I may be developing a CD or DVD on forgiveness which talks about forgiveness and its impact on a political level. I will be giving a key note on forgiveness which may also be recorded and which you may be interested in. I will keep you posted. Would PATRIR be interested in sponsoring me to do a training in forgiveness. By the way, I am the Director of Training for the Institute for Multi-Track Diplomacy and develop all the trainings in peacebuilding and conflict resolution which also has components in forgiveness and reconciliation. Lets stay in touch. I would love to hear more about what you do. Warmly, Eileen
