Profile Information

Please feel free to provide a short bio about yourself or the work of your organization (no more than 3 paragraphs)
I hold a Bachelor of Laws, second class upper division degree with honors from Uganda Christian University, Mukono- Uganda. My ambition is to make a difference in the lives of people and subscribe to the belief that every human being has a right to be treated with respect and dignity irrespective of their status under the law.

I am currently working as a Programme Assistant-Advocacy at Platform for Labour Action (PLA), Uganda, where as an Advocacy Assistant, I advocate for the promotion and protection of the rights of vulnerable and marginalised workers in Uganda. My work at PLA has exposed me to advocacy using the human rights approach to development, for reforms to legislations and policies that limit the ability of marginalised and vulnerable workers to enjoy their rights at the work place. This experience has attracted me to policy debates and analysis, writing proposals and position papers on human rights such as the right to social protection embedded in national and international instruments. Platform for Labour Action sits on the steering committee of the Uganda Social Protection Platform (USPP) and using this platform, I have participated in advocacy on the right to social protection and the need for adoption of social protection measures as contributory interventions to addressing extreme poverty, risks and vulnerabilities in Uganda. I have participated in the empowerment of law enforcement officers and duty bearers through training so as to build their capacity to combat human trafficking and child labour which have been aggravated by poverty and vulnerability. I am in position to appreciate and understand the critical role played by people in development and the need for them to be placed at its centre.
