Profile Information

Please feel free to provide a short bio about yourself or the work of your organization (no more than 3 paragraphs)
I am a Nigerian national, I earned both my Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Communication and Peace and Conflict Studies in 2001 and 2005 respectively. In Africa, I worked with Non-Governmental Organizations that specialize in peace-building, development, environment and social justice issues. These included packaging program aimed at capacity building on conflict resolution, budgeting, community development, needs assessment for grassroots communities and advocacy and lobbying and facilitating constructive dialogue and interface between the three different tiers of government, its various ministries and departments as well as other private entities and various stakeholders.

This enhanced participatory approaches and inclusiveness via advocacy and lobbying on diverse issues that concern development and governance. I have participated in the development of some state and national documents in the country in areas such as peace policy, inclusive budgeting and electoral reform.

I have worked on various internationally funded projects while in Africa. In Washington DC, I worked as a Program Manager on Africa and co-facilitated classes in a course on Peace-building and Conflict Resolution which my organization I work with has been teaching at the National Defense University in DC, USA to senior military officers and civilian nationals from various countries of the world for over 12 semesters on “the other ways other than the gun to solve conflicts”.
