Profile Information

What motivated you (or your organization) to become involved in peace and conflict resolution?
As a spiritually-motivated activist, I was seeking consistency between inner and outer life. The colleagues, skills, purposes of this work turn me toward consistency/wholeness.
Please feel free to provide a short bio about yourself or the work of your organization (no more than 3 paragraphs)
Labor relations was my first work - on the union side. (1974-79) Then I worked in non-profits and government, advocating for the same kinds of democratic, sustainable, equitable issues. (1980-89) In my work as a parish minister (1993 to 2008), I expanded study and practice in alternative dispute resolution, collaborative decision-making and teamwork, and circles. I've organized around restorative justice and prison ministry.
Now, I'm open to community ministry/spiritual activism in on-the-ground work.
Please list the countries and/or regions in which you (or your organization) have direct and significant expertise
Most of my work has been in the midwest US.
I traveled with international Gandhians in spring, 2005, and worked with the Unitarian Universalist congregation in Capetown, South Africa for 3 months in 1999.
What is your current country of residence (or location of your organization)?
United States of America
What is your current job (and organization) and/or where and what field are you studying?
seeking work in alternative dispute resolution, restorative justice, peacemaking training

Solidarity Covenant Proposal

I’m appreciating the framing of contemporary issues by Naomi Klein and Naomi Wolf and have paid attention to statements from Congress members Marcy Kaptur and Michael Burgess, along with websites on FEMA camps. My human responsibility is not to defeat evil but to promote goodness in myself and others through caring collaboration.

A covenant invites us to commit publicly to the power and security of compassionate interdependence. For some, stating what enables us to be human and to care for each… Continue

We are invited to examine responses to terrorism and to consider what we will live and die for.

Viewers are introduced to Joker as the leader of robbers doing their work – and then killing each other according to… Continue
