What motivated you (or your organization) to become involved in peace and conflict resolution?
Dear Friends,
I am interested to be involved in peace and conflict resolution because I live in Aceh which has experience in conflict for more than 28 years. Besides, since 1990 I have been working for Center for Community Development and Education (CCDE) Banda Aceh, Indonesia. It works for empowering and strengthening women and children.

I am Tabrani Yunis, Director Center for Community Development and Education (CCDE) Banda Aceh,Indonesia. I have been working for this local NGO since 1993. In my busy day,I train women with knowledge, and skills for building their life. I am building Acehnese writing habit by providing creative writing habit and publishing Acehnese women magazine, called POTRET. Women here can express their problems, experiences etc.

1. I write every month for POTRET magazine published by CCDE in order to build Acehnese writing habit. I write about all issues daling with women.
2. I started writing for public media, especially newspapers in Banda Aceh such as Serambi Indonesia, Aceh Post, Aceh Express, Aceh Independent, Harian Aceh, Wapada Medan, Harian Analisa Medan, Republika jakarta, Suara pembaruan, and Kompas. I also write for newsletters and bulletins
2. Most articles I write are about education, social,environment, women's issues such Stop Violence toward women and children ( www.ccde.or.id)
3.more than 400 articles have been published in local anad national media in Indonesia

Creative Writing Training for teachers, women, children and youths

Center for Community Development and Education (CCDE) Banda Aceh since 2001 has been active giving training on creative writing for women, female youths, children and event teachers from some schools in Aceh. During this month, CCDE held two creative writing training each for youths from 5 districts in Aceh and another one os for teachers from two districts. The training fro youths was held on May 18-20,2009. It was funded by International Youth Foundation (IYF) based in Baltimore, USA, while another training for teachers is held from 2-23 May 2009. The training for teachers is supported by Terre des hoomes Germany. All participants were facilitated with various knowledge and technics of writing. They can express anything they are interested

During the training, many of them were interested in writing about peace which is existing in Aceh to day after the initiation of signing the peace agreement between GAM and Indonesian Government. The training become as good activity to build their capacity in writing. Their articles will be published in POTRET magazine, a women magazine published by center forCommunity Development and Education, Banda Aceh, Indonesia.

I am now still concerning and working for building women' capacity in order to make them be able to be involved in all decision making processes includes peace building etc.

I have heard your name frequently from milis perempuan and we have a lot of interests to share. I also developed women community base counseling in East Java Province but I am currently finishing my Master Degree for a while.
