Profile Information

Please feel free to provide a short bio about yourself or the work of your organization (no more than 3 paragraphs)
I now direct and teach in a Master Of Science program in Conflict Management at Kennesaw State University. I was formerly at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I began as a family mediator, did a PhD in Social Policy at Newcastle University (UK), and worked as a family mediator in England, a child custody mediator and parenting coordinator in North Carolina.

I have extensive experience in developing and evaluating conflict resolution and community building programs, as diverse as a refugee soccer league, a local government landlord-tenant dispute program, non-profit mediation services, and community resource centers. I do my work from the perspective of human ecology theory and a community engaged scholarship paradigm.

My work in supervising graduate students has included projects on emotional intelligence and conflict management styles, a soccer program for Latino youth, refugee community relations, and humanitarian assistance in complex conflicts.
