we always return to what we know

Will certainly keep you posted Shaheen,

You are very welcome, also, to join our online community & meet the rest of the team, share about your work etc, if you wish - though you're obviously very busy!
We're posting some films there about our Ugandan experiences.

But either way, I'll keep in touch!

Kindest regards

I once illustrated a book for an elderly friend who was brought up in Kenya, and she'd tranlsated some traditional Tanzanian tales from Swahili into English. But anyway, very interested to hear that you speak Swahili!! Actually, my husband was just suggesting yesterday evening that we find someone who speaks Swahili so we can put up a 'Uganda Page' on our site! So I might take you up on your offer of help at some point if you feel you'd be able to do a bit of translating of text. But we haven't written the text yet! And certainly, Swahili subtitles for the movie would be great. But it won't be ready till October at the earliest so it's a bit premature to talk about that.
We have some contacts in Kenya, and in fact a lovely group of women who are keen to set up WFAC in Kenya, but we don't have any contacts in Tanzania as yet.
We haven't set dates for Uganda yet. (we need to book our flights soon!). We're aiming for mid-August. Our 'film-crewe' are going out there in July to make a start.
We actually had our wedding filmed, so bits can be used for the documentary, as it was the first time many of us had met - women flew in from various places!
If you are interested, you can watch this film on the front page of our community at www.womenforachangecommunity.ning.com
You don't have to join in order to watch it - but of course you're most welcome to join if you want to!!
Re Gaza, we didn't get to Gaza. We certainly want to go back to Israel & Palestine though. We had an interesting drive around the West Bank, and were overawed by its beauty, and of course saddened that there's so much suffering in such a beautiful place. We have a lovely friend in Gaza and have tried on a couple of occasions (including our honeymoon) to request permission for her to come and meet with other WFAC women but to no avail.
We are certainly planning future projects in the Middle East. One of the women we visited is a wonderful film-maker/actress in Jordan.
A pleasure to meet you, too
and I'll certainly keep in touch!
(I'll write to you more about our plans for our Uganda project as they develop)
I'd love to hear of your Gaza visit.
