Profile Information

What motivated you (or your organization) to become involved in peace and conflict resolution?
Being Chairperson for Slum Women Economic Empowerment Program(SWEEP) and Secretary of the Nairobi East Youth Network both operating in Nairobi Kenya, I have actively participated in Peace Building initiatives in some of the slums that were heavily affected by the post-election violence that broke in January 2008 after the December 2007 disputed election results in Kenya.

I want to be part of the solution in making neighbours who fought one another live together in peace once again. I want to see another election year that is not stained with killings and animosity along tribal lines as it happened in the last election year.

I cant be in trouble.
Sociology and Economics are inter-related especially with regards to development.
There cant be development without first developing the humans. May be this is where our dear continent is missing it.
All d best. I really want to make the trips soonest so that I can conclude my work & move on.
