Profile Information

What motivated you (or your organization) to become involved in peace and conflict resolution?
the decay of political morale in international relations under the so-called bipolarity regime since around 1989-91. My own background from Berlin student revolt in the 60's, where norms of democracy collided with new forms of 'realpolitik' and later the revival of geopolitics brought me to more critical awareness in relation to IP-theory which my students came into contact with. Most of it is rubbish, seen from a broader societal-historical perspective, but it serves the power structures. I am engaged in climate politics and have since many years tried to inform about the profound approach to environmental issues by the former candidate to U.S. presidency and most profound environmental scientist, Barry Commoner. Lately in a poster on Climate politics and the peace dividend, where I go 20 years back, when Barry proposed to make those very same investments in ecological restructuring, which again are on the table (In his 1990 work: 'Making peace with the planet')

What are some of your current areas of research (if any)?
Toxic emissions and devaluated CO2-neutrality of combustion of wood (booklet at info@vdm-publishing.com)
Climate sensitivity of forests (just participated in Forest Day 3, side event to COP15) with appeal to propagate knowledge of IUFRO that forests may turn into sources of greenhouse gases, when temperature rises more than 2,5 degree C over pre-industrial level. Nonsense to substitute wood combustion for natural gas - better to go to biogas-methane.
If appropriate feel free to list several of your (or your organization's) publications
Toxic emissions and devaluated CO2-neutrality. Expanded combustion of stem wood violates sustainable development
(e-book available for reviewers at info@vdm-publishing.com)
