Started volunteering for UNICEF as a child, became a peer educator, and met a number of individuals from conflict-afflicted areas who became role models in high school.

The role of religion in peacebuilding; the role of religion in civil and uncivil society (particularly Islam); forced migration; refugee law in Canada and International law; the role of justice in conflict and peacebuilding (in particular historical narratives); communitarian vs cosmopolitan approaches to justice; the relationship between epistemological frameworks for truth claims and peace and conflict studies.
