What motivated you (or your organization) to become involved in peace and conflict resolution?
My professional background as a Professor of sociology with specialisation in the areas of law, crime, delinquency, gender and human rights.
Please feel free to provide a short bio about yourself or the work of your organization (no more than 3 paragraphs)
Abdul-Mumin Sa’ad holds a doctorate degree (D.Phil.) in Sociology of Law from University of Sussex, U.K.; a Masters degree (M.Phil.) in Criminology from Cambridge University, England; a bachelor’s degree (B.Sc.) in sociology and a Graduate Certificate in Education from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Nigeria. He lectures in Department of Sociology and Anthropology, University of Maiduguri, Nigeria. He is currently a Professor of sociology with concentration on Criminology and a Visiting Professor in American University of Nigeria, Yola, . He has published widely in his area of specialization. Which is Criminology and Criminal Justice in the Third World (especially: sociology of law; crime and delinquency; punishment and correction; human rights; women, law and social regulations; and sexual and reproductive health and rights). Other areas of his research and teaching interest, in which he has important publications include: a) Social change and development (especially, gender, population, education and development); b) Social work and administration; and c) Theory and methods in sociology.
