Profile Information

What motivated you (or your organization) to become involved in peace and conflict resolution?
Since i am a "Peace building and conflict resolution" student in Kampala International University (BA), am motivated by activities of peace building, conflict resolution, human rights and development this organization has been engaged in. Additionally, the offer of scholarships for high studies and short term courses also motivated and would want to be one of your beneficiaries in these scholarships in your future.
Please feel free to provide a short bio about yourself or the work of your organization (no more than 3 paragraphs)
i am a sudanese by nationality (particularly from the Southern part), age approaching 30th. i started my primary education and completed it during the war time under trees, secondary education also there and later got a permission to go to Kenya to complete a secondary education in2004. After completion, i joined a college in 2005 to study diploma in law (2yrs), (Kenya School of Professional Studies) and finished in 2007. Later on i came to Southern Sudan having no funds to proceed to a LLB degree i came to Juba to look for a job and got and got one.

When i got a job with National Democratic Institute for international affirs (NDI) as Civic Education Officer (CEO), i immediately enroled as a distance learning student in Kampala International University (KIU) on Conflicts and Peace studies leading to the award of Bachelor of arts in conflicts. Now, iam in my second year in the final
semester going to the third.

NDI role in Southern Sudan is to preach democracy, good governance, rule of law, human rights and development through empowering the citizens to be able to do their own activities. It does these activities by engaging the local leaders, government officials, civil society organizations/ CBOs, youth and women groups.
Currently, NDI is engage in training volunteer observers to over see campaign process which are to take place recently.

National Democratic Institute is a non-governmental organization which operates in 60 countries across the globe with the headquarters in Washington. Few examples of these countries are Kenya, Uganda, Sudan,etc

I am currently residing in Sudan (Juba- Southern Sudan capital)

I did diploma in Law (2yrs in Kenya), currently, i joined distance learning program and studying "bachelors degree in Conflicts and Peace studies" in Kampala International University (KIU)-2nd year final semester. My current position in the organization is "Program Officer"

I would like to say thank so much also for your reply and become one of my friends in this site. I will also learn more from you when we can share each other what we do. I am now still concerning and working for building women' capacity in order to make them be able to be involved in all decision making processes includes peace building etc.
