Profile Information

What motivated you (or your organization) to become involved in peace and conflict resolution?
I think I have always been interested in issues related to peace and conflict resolution, but I guess I really became interested after I started traveling and meeting people from around the world. When you begin to see what unites and divides us then you begin to see how we can work together in peaceful and sustainable ways.
Please feel free to provide a short bio about yourself or the work of your organization (no more than 3 paragraphs)
Cassandra Clifford is the Founder and Executive Director of Bridge to Freedom Foundation, which works to enhance and improve the services and opportunities available to survivors of modern slavery. The organization is focused on moving “from surviving to thriving”, for which they seek to empower survivors through their Personal, Education and Professional Development Programs.

As a non-profit leader, writer, and activist Cassandra’s main objective is to bring awareness to, and combat modern day slavery in all forms, especially with children. Cassandra has been active in human rights since she was in high school, and has spent the last six years fully dedicating herself to the fight against modern slavery, as both a member of staff and a volunteer. She founded the Bridge to Freedom Foundation out of both passion and need, after years as serving as a non-profit freelancer and writer. Cassandra's main personal objective has been, and is, to bring awareness to, and combat modern day slavery in all forms. It was from her experiences that she developed the foundation and plan to help bridge the gaps in the fight against modern slavery.

Cassandra has done academic research in the areas of; The Use of Rape as a Weapon of War, Ethnic Cleansing and Genocide in the Former Soviet Union, Child Soldiers and of course Human Trafficking. Cassandra has previously worked in both the corporate and charity sector for various industries and causes, including; Child Trafficking, Learning Disabilities, Publishing, Marketing, Public Relations and Fashion.

Cassandra, who is originally from the Greater Kansas City, Missouri area, has lived in Birmingham, England; Dublin, Ireland; New York, NY; Providence, Rhode Island and has spent significant amounts of time in Germany and Russia. Traveling is a passion that has led Cassandra to many cities and countries, much of her travels have consisted of Eastern and Central Europe. Cassandra currently resides in the Washington, D.C. metro area, where she also writes for the Examiner, as the DC Human Rights Examiner, and serves as an active leadership member of DC Stop Modern Slavery.

Cassandra holds an M.A., International Relations from Dublin City University in Ireland, as well as a B.A., Marketing and an A.S., Fashion Merchandising from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island.

Hi Cassandra, this is a laudable venture and I think that such stories exist everywhere. We must fight to end such slavery. I am currently working on a video in Sierra Leone that illustrates that. it is a true story of child slavery and the need to end this is important. warm wishes, Andrew

Dear friend
Violance, war, conflicts, sufferings my desire to see world in peace and non violance has motivated me to join this network."Vasudev kutukbkam" entire world as a family, this was a teaching of our culture and traditional.we created countries, boundries, religions, cast, race for a genuine reason or a false reasons for any reason.but this the time to realise that we are one and we naturaly interconected with each other ,which we can just realise by watching inhale and exhale of breaths the source is same ,without any descrimanation, religion, bonundries, equaly for all living life of universe .When we understand this simple thing then we must understand how our and other's life is equaly important, valuble ,respectable .we should follow the nature's rule ,non violance .peace ,god has given us a human life not for destruction but for lookafter the wellbeing of all living life.
i shall be happy if you could include me in your circle of friends
