Profile Information
- Please feel free to provide a short bio about yourself or the work of your organization (no more than 3 paragraphs)
- I am a gender activist who holds a BSc in Psychology with a minor in Gender and Development from the University of the West Indies, Trinidad. As well as an MA in Development, specialising in Conflict, Reconstruction and Human Security from the Institute of Social Studies in The Hague.
I have worked as a Gender Research Assistant with the UNDP Regional Centre Port-of-Spain, Trinidad office since June 2009 to Aug 2010. I ensured that gender ideologies and the latest gender-related research was incorporated into all aspects of the work that the Regional Centre produced. During my time at UNDP, I also designed and implemented gender sensitisation training for sexual minortiy groups and United Nations Volunteers.
Additionally, I have ethnographic research experience, having done a field study in the area of child sexual abuse. I have also been a teaching assistant for two gender courses, 'Introduction to Women Studies " and "Men and Masculinities" at the University of the West Indies, Trinidad.
