Please feel free to provide a short bio about yourself or the work of your organization (no more than 3 paragraphs)
I am particularly interested in global issues concerning human rights and therefore carried
out my Undergrad dissertation in the human rights field by researching and analysing
data regarding European citizens’ rights and the role of the European Ombudsman. My
dissertation examined the advantages for every European citizen which came about as a
result of the Treaty on the European Union. I concluded that democracy cannot solely be a
written concept. The institution of the Ombudsman, together with a democratically elected parliament and independent judiciary are the pillars of a system of check and balances in which a healthy democracy works and exists in practice.
I am at present a student of MEDAC, University of Malta and SCAR, George Mason University: studying a dual masters in Conflict Resolution and Mediterranean Security
