Profile Information

What motivated you (or your organization) to become involved in peace and conflict resolution?
As I'm living in Batticaloa - Sri Lanka where the 30 years of ethnic clashes between Tamils and Singhalese completely destroyed the infrastructures as well as cultural values of both, I found this is a good space for learn and share many good things.
Please feel free to provide a short bio about yourself or the work of your organization (no more than 3 paragraphs)
After my graduation from Eastern University of Sri Lanka for Biological Science, I have moved to Colombo from Batticaloa and worked as a Graphic Designer for an Advertising firm. As I was born in a place where the community is suffering more than 30 years for food, health and humanitarian assistance I have decided to go back to my own community. Therefore I have joined as a social worker for the Action Contre-la Faim (ACF) team in Trincomalee, and closely worked with the communities Muthur-East and Batticaloa North. I have witnessed, learned and shared many valuable things from the communities and that helped me to take a firm decision about my career. I have worked for Danish Refugee Council (DRC) and UNDP before joining the USAID/SLTI program where currently I’m working for. As a Program Development personality in Developments Alternatives Inc. for USAID/SLTI program, learned lot of things in the field and that is motivated me to involve peace building activities.
Please list the countries and/or regions in which you (or your organization) have direct and significant expertise
Sri Lanka
What is your current country of residence (or location of your organization)?
Sri Lanka
What is your current job (and organization) and/or where and what field are you studying?
