Profile Information

Please feel free to provide a short bio about yourself or the work of your organization (no more than 3 paragraphs)
How can peace be "sold" and who will buy it. I am not talking about $, I am talking about our attitudes, beliefs and behaviors. We can have peace if we really want it - but it will cost us something. I am passionate about finding this "something" and making it easier and more desirable for conflict consumers. I am a peacebuilder, communications specialist and a lover of innovation. I work to apply strategic behavioral change communications to the field of conflict resolution, in other words I help peacebuilding NGO's and people working on the frontlines of conflict rebrand the idea of "peace" and make it doable for the people they serve. My website: Peace for Sale. I also blog at www.osocio.org and www.insightonconflict.org

Hi Monica,

Thanks for the great link and interest in some of our innovation work at Peace & Conflict Planners, we do seem to have some shared interests.

Our company is currently re-branding/re-launching and we are in development mode on a number of interesting projects now that my wife has left her permanent public sector roll supporting Canadian and US… governments with reconstruction programming.

Private sector innovation is our strength and we keep busy on a combination of client work and internal self funded project development. We only post a portion of our work publicly online.

If you have time, visit our site for our #, and give me a call.

Cheers,

Hi Monica,

I just posted what may be the first post on peaceforsale.org and after reading your site, I’d be interested to learn if your partnering on projects/topics.

Also wanted to direct you to today’s blog post titled 5 Tools for Building a Next-Generation ‘Hybrid’ Class Website it’s very much aligned with your interests.

Look forward to hear from you.

Cheers,

Hi Monica, thanks for your interest in Guinea’s urban youth. In fact, let me send you another article on the same issue: http://www.inwent.org/ez/articles/171240/index.en.shtml

Unfortunately, there have been no SFCG urban youth baselines on other cities. From my own, and rather superficial, experience of these places, I would say that the general dynamics may indeed be similar, however the scope of organized youth’s political impacts and their relationships with political parties is certainly far more substantial in the capital.

If you need more concrete information and if you speak a bit of French, you should contact an expert on the issue: Thomas Grovogui (masthoguilareplik@yahoo.fr).

Hope that helps a bit. Good luck with your M.A.!
