Profile Information

Please feel free to provide a short bio about yourself or the work of your organization (no more than 3 paragraphs)
Born and raised in Mexico City, Wilson moved to the United States as a teenager, thus solidifying a strictly multicultural identity. Wilson was already working on applying his scholarly understandings of social justice to reform institutional governance at his undergraduate university in Wisconsin when Governor Scott Walker was elected and began his campaign to curtail the rights of students, laborers and communities of color. Wilson (alongside a team of committed student leaders) was able to win an 11 million dollar struggle over student segregated fees at his university, all while channeling his efforts to mobilize Wisconsinites on behalf of the middle and low-income population. By the outset of the Occupy movement, Wilson had gone from student leader to student journalist, and he was able to document many of the nationwide vignettes of this enduring moment. As of the fall of 2012, Wilson began a Politics doctorate at the University of California, Santa Cruz, where he continues to research and work for social justice and sustainable peace.
