What motivated you (or your organization) to become involved in peace and conflict resolution?

Melissa Gossett joined One World 2011 as the Director of International Sports Programs in October 2009. She attended graduate school at the University of Washington, where she received a Master of Public Administration from the Daniel J. Evans School and a Master of Arts in International Studies from the Henry M. Jackson School. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Emory University. Prior to joining the 2011 team, Melissa managed the OneWorld Now!-STARTALK Arabic and Chinese summer language immersion program for high school students since its inception in 2007. In her spare time, Melissa enjoys staying active. She has been a lifelong participant and enthusiast of many sports, and currently plays soccer and softball on recreational teams. Melissa’s varied background in public affairs, international studies, psychology, program management, and sports provides the perfect foundation for her role with One World 2011.
