What motivated you (or your organization) to become involved in peace and conflict resolution?
Research on gender and war in Latin America.
Please feel free to provide a short bio about yourself or the work of your organization (no more than 3 paragraphs)
I am interested in how gender informs our understanding of war and vice versa. I have done extensive research on Nicaragua, particularly on how the revolutionary state mobilized women during the contra war. Now I am engaged in a broader comparative project on gender, war, and peace processes in Cuba, Colombia, Mexico (Chiapas) and Nicaragua. The first book project planned from this research will be a book on gender and women in the Cuban insurrection.
