Dear Kiriko,
Thank you very much for accepting my friendship. I agree if we can make the world peaceful. You know? Aceh was in conflict for more than 28 years. Conflict was very terrible because it was not only political conflict, but finally full of violence because both sides who were involved in conflict used weapons ( armed conflict). So many people victimized by the conflict. People lost their courage or braveness. They could not do their livelihood etc. More than 1000 schools were burned down and still many tortures, kidnapping and even killed during the conflict. Then Aceh in December 26,2004 hit by tsunami that killed more than 250.000 people died and lost in that disaster.
The initiation or efforts to bring Aceh into peace had been done, but all of the efforts failed. Then after tsunami disaster, when so many international communities came to Aceh to rebuild and reconstruct Aceh. Tsunami seemed to open the gate for those who were in conflict opened their eyes and hearths of to create peace in Aceh. Initiated and mediated by Crisis Management Initiative in Finland, led by the President of Finland, Marthi Ahtisaari and the vice president of Indonesia, Yusuf Kalla, the peace then happened in Aceh. Acehnese people, and civil society felt very happy. Now are safe to travel every where, even to the remote areas freely. No more police or soldier and the combatants stop us in the streets. Even sometimes there still unexpected action happened such as robbery, shooting, but not very often. Shortly we are really happy with these actions which tend to be crimes.

In order to involve women in peace process and peace building in Aceh, We are the CSO tried to build peace with women's groups.
'This is a short information I can share with you now.

Best Regard

Tabrani Yunis
