Dr.phil., Dr.rer.nat., Dipl.Psych. Susanne Jalka
Having grown up as a quaker in Vienna I was influenced with social political engagement throughout my life. Having studied Psychology, Psychoanalysis, Religion Science and Sexology I am always aiming to reach correspondance between theories and actual living, structuring my life accordingly. My teaching at the university and other institutions as well as my project development emphasizes the necessity of self reflection as a main source for social engagement
After more than 30 years living in other countries like Germany, Morocco, Spain, Turkey and USA I have returned to Austria now and live in Vienna as counsellor and peace project developer.
Please list the countries and/or regions in which you (or your organization) have direct and significant expertise
Austria, Czech Republic, England, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Norway, Rumania, Slovenia, Spain.
What is your current country of residence (or location of your organization)?

What is your current job (and organization) and/or where and what field are you studying?
The Konfliktkultur association develops projects, organizes seminars and publishes materials on creative and constructive interaction in conflict situations and for peace education.
Which are your primary sectoral areas of expertise (or the primary sectoral areas of your organization) ?
Democratization, Youth, Education
Which are your primary skills areas(or the primary skill areas of your organization)?
Training, Program Design
What are some of your current areas of research (if any)?
1. Developing a survey on peace matters serving three important aims:
- it would provide facts about the knowledge in the general public on peace history, peace movement and peace concepts;
- it would function as contemporary opinion research in the population;
- and it would work for the target groups as a starting point to reflect and think about peace, which is - in our perspective - the precondition to reach peace.

2. Research on information material for developing a peace trail in Vienna to be published as a book and audio guide.
If appropriate feel free to list several of your (or your organization's) publications
