Investigador A. v. Humboldt del departamento de Antropologia de America de la Universidad de Bonn (Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn). Es miembro fundador del Seminario de Estudios Narrativos (adscrito al CISEPA, centro de investigación de la Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú ). En esta misma universidad, ha obtenido su licenciatura y maestría en Antropología, donde es profesor del programa de la Maestría en Gerencia Social. Además, ha sido profesor de la Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (maestria en Antropologia; y director de Registro y Estudio de la Cultura en el Peru Contemporaneo y del Museo de la Cultura Peruana en el Ministerio de Cultura.
