Profile Information

Please feel free to provide a short bio about yourself or the work of your organization (no more than 3 paragraphs)
Jibril Mohamed is a lecturer at the Ohio State University and policy analyst. He is also the executive director of SomaliCAN, a 501 (c) 3 outreach and advocacy organization based in Columbus, Ohio. He earned a Master of Arts degree in Public Policy and Management from the John Glenn School of Public Affairs at the Ohio State University. He also has a BA (honors) in economics and postgraduate training in human services from the University of Cincinnati. Jibril is actively involved in community services and is a member of the board the the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition and the State Department's Generation Change initiative. He was awarded the President's Call to Service Medal for his outstanding community service by President Obama.

In addition to his roles as a leader and educator, Jibril also serves as a Somali court interpreter in all Ohio counties and beyond. He was appointed as an interpreter in county courts in various Ohio cities and he facilitated communication from initial case hearings to trials.
