Profile Information

What motivated you (or your organization) to become involved in peace and conflict resolution?
The quest to bring toghether communities that have torn themselves apart as a result of on going struggle for resource control and years of deprivation in my state (Delta State Nigeria) and region (Nigerdelta, Nigeria).
Please feel free to provide a short bio about yourself or the work of your organization (no more than 3 paragraphs)
Until recently joining the CLEEN FOUNDATION Lagos, Nigeria in 2006, as Programme Officer, Isioma was the project officer of human rights education with the Civil Liberties organisation. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from the Enugu State University of Technology and practiced that profession until she made an entry into human rights work in 2001. A master degree holder in Public administration from Lagos State University and professional training on Peacebuilding practices from the School for International Training, Vermont, USA, Isioma is currently managing the Niger delta Community Peacebuilding project of the CLEEN Foundation. She has to her credit contributed to two academic publications and written several articles and papers on human rights and democracy, Non-violent peace actions and women’s rights. She is a member of several advocacy groups and networks such as the Civil Liberties Organisation, Women in Peacebuilding network, Association of non-violence peace initiative and Responding to gender based violence network.
