Profile Information

What motivated you (or your organization) to become involved in peace and conflict resolution?
I was born and raised in a conflict prone, insurgency inflicted multi-ethnic area. I have been in more than three major conflict situations and have seen and experienced first-hand the sufferings, trauma, fear and other ghastly experiences. Many of my close friends, relatives have been killed or died in these fightings. I have been shot at, treatened, chased, beaten during these fightings. Therefore, all these experiences have led me to realize the importance of peace and the destructive effects of any conflicts; led me to have a resolution to work for peace with all the passions and energy I possess, no matter how hard it may be, so that people now and after can have a reason to hope and smile for, so that innocent people will be spared the hurt and pains I have gone through.

the negative ethno- centricism is a dangerous reality.we can beter understand it from africa.north-east is a also exhibiting the same problem.matriarchal dominance of khasi community is turning to be a patriarchal one?
w.elvin's approch and indian modernity and present globalisation providemore questions rather than answers.
