What motivated you (or your organization) to become involved in peace and conflict resolution?
I was born in Nagasaki, the city where an atomic-bomb was dropped for the second time in human history. With this background I've been a peace activist for years, struggling to find ways to make all peoples on the earth live in peace, safety, and social justice.

I live in Japan, interning with a Middle East TV network, and finishing my undergraduate studies. I also studied at the University of Maryland, United States as an exchange student last year.

Fumi my interests are pretty broad, presently am working on a publication on juvenile justice in Kenya, a publication i intend to share with the department of prisons in Kenya in tandem with the ongoing reforms at the security unit. i also have keen interest on democracy and governance of African states especially My country, community health and youth activism. Hope your theses is doing well

Thank you Fumi for your message. I do hope to visit Hiroshima and Nagasaki one day. I remember Yo Yo Ma was very popular in Japan when I was there. I saw him on TV several times but unfortuntely never saw him live. Seeing his concert must have been a great experience.

Its interesting to know your rich history that informs your carrier path, am also glad to not that at least your country has picked itself from the tragic bomb ordeal. wish some countries in Africa could borrow a leaf from Japan.
